Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm Sounding – Baylis Avenue

Location: 29112 Baylis Av Baylis Estates, DE 19966

On Thursday afternoon, May 29th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding on Baylis Avenue in Baylis Estates off Mount Joy Road.  It was reported as smoke detector activation inside the residential structure.

Emergency response units included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews were notified while responding that there was additional contact with the homeowner and proper passcodes were given and identified a culinary mishap wishing to cancel.

All apparatus were cancelled and returned to their respective quarters.
