On Sunday, May 25th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company responded to an automatic fire alarm at the Windswept Drive residential section of the Peninsula. This incident was an automatic fire alarm sounding within the commercial residential structure.
Emergency response units included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
After evaluation, all units were cleared and this location placed on officer’s call for72 hours based upon the repeat occurrence of this alarm system over the week. Efforts to contact the maintenance personnel continue.
