On Friday afternoon, May 23^rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road near Cove Liquors.  It was reported to be a vehicle versus tractor trailer truck.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Susse Rescue Squad and the Millsboro EMS.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.  

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, patient stabilization where needed, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, and overall incident mitigation efforts. One person was transported to nearby medical facilities and the another was a refusal.

It appears that a gray Chevrolet Traverse was traveling along Long Neck Road and went thru the Cove Liquors parking lot striking a tractor trailer delivery truck that was unloading beverages to nearby businesses. Some the truck’s contents were dispersed onto the ground in the parking lot.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated off the parking lot area and prohibited access while the mitigation process was progressing.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
