Nature: Trash Fire

Location: 34819 Church Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

On Monday morning, May 20^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a trash fire on Church Lane off Long Neck Road in the Tunnell Companies Compound.  It was reported to be trash in the trash truck caught and the load was dumped on the ground.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Brush 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included saturation and suppression of the fire, as well as overall mitigation efforts.  Additional equipment was required to separate the trash pile and a skid steer was acquiesced via the property owner.

It appears that the contents of a trash truck caught fire as it was dumped on the ground requiring separation.

After suppression, all units were permitted to return to their respective quarters.
