Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Mount Joy Rd and John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Monday evening, May 12^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident at the intersection of Mount Joy Road and John J. Williams Highway.  It was reported to be a two vehicle rear-end type collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control, patient stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery as well as overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that at black Honda Civic was hit in the rear by a dark color GMS Sierra pick-up causing damage to both vehicles.  One occupant was evaluated by EMS personnel.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the closure of Mount Joy Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
