Nature: Structure Fire

On Friday afternoon, May 2^nd, the Indian River (80) and Milton (85) fire departments were alerted to assist the Millsboro (83) Fire Company with a commercial structure fire at the Independence Clubhouse on Samuel Adams Circle off Indian Mission Road.  It was reported that the conference room facility had visible smoke present with the fire alarm sounding.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included completion of an external and internal facility evaluation, aerial and ladder apparatus to access the roof area to conduct an evaluation of the HVAC units, other interior evaluation measures to ascertain rational for the smoke conditions.

It was reported that a smoke condition in the facility conference room with audible fire alarms sounding.  After evaluation, the issue was isolated to the HVAC units.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene access for the duration of the incident.
