Nature: Outside Fire
Location: 26492 Topaz Rd Masseys Landing, DE 19966
On Sunday evening, April 27th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an outside fire associated with improper usage of fireworks at the Massey’s Landing Public Ramp Parking Lot.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Brush 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard Facility and Brush 80-0 and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
Emergency response crew assignments checked and evaluated the concern of nearby residents based upon improper usage of fireworks igniting nearby brush and trees in the Massey’s Landing Mobile Home Park. All areas were mitigated by Brush 80-0 and other responding apparatus were cancelled.
It appears that people were igniting fireworks from the Massey’s Landing Public Ramp Parking area that ignited nearby brush and trees in the Massey’s Landing Mobile Home Park.
All other responding units were cancelled.
