Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday afternoon, April 25th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at intersection of Long Neck Road.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision at the intersection with the possibility of four patients for EMS evaluation.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80 and #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency response alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, Millsboro EMS,  and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery, patient stabilization where needed, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a black Kia Soul and a maroon Ford Bronco collided at the intersection causing operational damage to both vehicles and requiring multiple transports to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident with much of the intersection traffic patterns being altered because of the accident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
