Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Indian Mission Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday afternoon, April 24^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at intersection of Indian Mission Road & Long Neck Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision at the intersection.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80 and #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency response alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics. 

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery, patient stabilization where needed, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a Nissan Rogue and a Toyota Prius collided at the intersection causing operational damage to both vehicles and requiring one transport to nearby medical facilities. 

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident with much of the intersection traffic patterns being altered because of the accident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
