On Monday morning, April 14th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a medical emergency which necessitated a landing zoning assignment.  The landing zone was designated to be within the Bay City Main Entrance Area off Long Neck Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the LifeNet 2 Aviation Unit.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control and securing the landing zone for the aviation unit as well as assisting EMS personnel. 

The patient suffered a medical condition which necessitated transportation to other medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control where needed.
