Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Monday morning, April 14^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident near the Harris Teeter Grocery Store off Bay Farm Road.  It was reported to be a three (3) vehicle collision involving possibly two patients needing EMS evaluation.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Millsboro EMS, and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from the Indian River included the Duty Officer and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient evaluation and stabilization as needed, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a brown Toyota sedan possibility struck two other vehicles with one of the vehicles parked in the parking lot.  The Toyota struck the rear of blue Dodge pick up before hitting the parked Toyota Tacoma pick up.  The driver of the Toyota sedan needed EMS evaluation.

The Delaware State Fire Police were assigned with coordinating off sections of the parking lot that needed fluid and debris clean up.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
