Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 37 Comanche Circle Warwick Park, DE 19966

On Thursday afternoon, April 10th, the Indian River (80), Millsboro (83), and Dagsboro (73) volunteer fire companies were alerted for a residential structure fire on Comanche Circle in the Warwick Park development.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial exterior and interior evaluation with the determination the fire had been suppressed allowing the cancellation of other responding apparatus from Dagsboro and Millsboro.

It was reported that the home occupants were cooking when a grease fire ignited the cooking ware spreading into the cabinetry and microwave above the range top.  The fire was quickly suppressed allowing for minimal damage other than in the kitchen area.  Crews checked for extensions into the walls and cabinetry and assisted with the removal of the microwave and stove from the immediate area.

The were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

All units were permitted to return to their respective stations.
