On Sunday morning, April 5th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a carbon monoxide (CO) detector activation at a residential address on Easy Street in the Pot Nets Bayside development off Long Neck Road. It was reported that the CO detectors were sounding within the residence.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior and interior evaluation of the facility as well as a consultation with the property owner.
It appears that the occupants were changing their batteries within their CO detectors continued to activate the alarms.
All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective stations.
