Nature: Vehicle Fire

Location: East of the Intersection - William Street Rd & John J Williams Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday, March 27^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on John J. Williams Highway just east of the intersection with William Street Road. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle evaluation and traffic control and rendered this incident a mechanical condition and cancelled all responding units.

It appears that the vehicle was traveling on John J. Williams Highway and encountered a mechanical problem causing the transmission lines to break causing operational concerns and a smoking condition.  The occupants were not away of the vehicle conditions and notified Emergency Operations for a vehicle fire. 

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control before being cancelled.
