Nature: Brush Fire
Location: 24463 Banks Rd Millsboro, DE 19966
On Thursday afternoon, March 13th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a brush fire on Banks Road. It was reported to be a control burn that has gotten away and the neighbors are attempting to extinguish.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck facility.
Emergency response crews were notified that the incident was originally a control burn that has gotten away and the property owner was attempting to extinguish. Crews assisted the property with suppression and saturation of the area to ensure no additional concerns existed. Tanker 80 was cancelled while responding to the incident location.
