Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: 36681 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

Early Thursday morning, February 27^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road at the Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2.  It was reported to be a vehicle rollover with the possibility of three occupants in the vehicle.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine 80-1 and Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization if needed, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and overall incident mitigation. The aviation unit and additional medics were cancelled while responding to the incident.

A black Honda SUV type vehicle was traveling on Long Neck Road and did not successfully navigate the entrance to the Massey’s Landing Public Ramp causing the vehicle to rollover. One person was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
