Indian River Mourns the Passing of Fire Police Captain – Christ L. Harsh, Jr. - Memorial Service Update
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is saddened to announce the passing of our Fire Police Captain Christ L. Harsh, Jr. and hereby publishes his memorial service plans.
Christ’s tenure in the Delaware and Pennsylvania Fire Service included service with the following organizations:
Firefighter with the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company for 11 years and 17 days

Fire Police Officer
-
Fire Police Captain
Firefighter Mount Joy Fire Department which is a combination of the former Friendship Fire Company and the Florin Fire Company which merged in 2001.
Christ was an active part of the fire services during his years of volunteerism. Christ served faithfully and assisted his community in times of need.
Indian River extends its condolences and deepest gratitude to the families and loved ones of Christ.
We wish to offer the Harsh Family as well as any extended family and friends our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Information regarding Christ’s services will be at the Melson's Funeral Home – Long Neck Chapel on Thursday, March 6, 2025:

Visitation Services at 11 AM

Funeral Service at 12 noon with firefighter honors.

Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.
