Nature: Appliance Fire
Location: 28333 Elizabeth St Millsboro, DE 19966
On Sunday evening, February 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an appliance fire incident on Elizabeth Street in the Bowden Acres development. It was reported to smoke emitting from the microwave and filling up the house.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility.
Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation efforts with an initial exterior evaluation, removal of the microwave oven from the residential structure, and positive pressure ventilation.
It appears that there was a culinary mishap with an inoperable microwave.
After ventilation was completed, all emergency response units were permitted to return to their respective quarters.
