Nature: Residential Fire Alarm Sounding

On Wednesday, January 22nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a residential fire alarm sounding.  Information was received that a single townhouse’s fire alarm was sounding for more than 20 minutes and not sure if anyone was inside.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police responded to assist.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation efforts with discussion with neighbors, complete exterior evaluation with nothing evident, visual interior evaluation without making entry with nothing evident.

The rationale for the alarm sounding has been undetermined and all emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective stations after the evaluation.
