Nature: MVC – Pedestrian Struck

On Tuesday morning, January 14th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian near the Giant Foods in the Plaza Drive Shopping Center.  Additional emergency medical response units included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper #2, and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response units included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  The aviation was cancelled immediately upon arrival of first responding EMS unit.

Emergency response crew assignments were to coordinate patient stabilization and packaging and overall incident mitigation.

A pedestrian was struck in the parking lot near the Giant Food Store and required medical attention.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
