Nature: Wires Down/Arcing

Location: Cannon Rd and Pelican Point Blvd W., Pelican Point, DE 19966

On Friday morning, January 10^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a wire down incident on Cannon Road between Friendship Road and Pelican Point Blvd off Indian Mission Road.  It was reported to be wires down in the roadway.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included locate and identify the source of the incident complaint, evaluate the type of wires down and report to the Emergency Operations Center for corrective action and notification of appropriate utility service personnel.

It was identified as possibly a cable wire and not electrical service wiring that was lying in the center of the roadway.  All wires were removed from the roadway and appropriate notification was coordinated. All emergency response units were authorized to return to quarters after the removal of the hazard.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted where needed.
