Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Multi-Residential Structure

Location: 32980 Shoppes At Long Neck Blvd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday, January 5^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm with audible alarms.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80 and Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine 80 and 80-1 from the Long Neck facility.  Additionally, the Delaware State Fire Police responded to assist where needed.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation efforts, notification of the complex maintenance personnel, exterior evaluation of the facility as well as an interior evaluation with drainage of the sprinkler suppression system.

The rationale for the alarm sounding has been undetermined and the facility maintenance personnel and complex management have been notified.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective stations.
