Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Eagle Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday, January 2^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Eagle Lane.  It was reported to be a three car collision rear end type collision.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a silver GMC pick up did not realize that the traffic was slowing or stopped and struck the rear of a silver Toyota Prius which then struck a maroon KIA Rio causing significant damage to all vehicles involved and rendering them inoperable.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated a complete closure of the all traffic patterns on John J. Williams Highway. 

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
