Nature: Service Call-Fire

On Wednesday afternoon, December 25th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a service type call on Oak Orchard Road at the WMF Watercraft & Marine service department facility. It was reported that water was coming from the building.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80-1 from the Long Neck facility.  A responder from WMF Watercraft was responding at the time for the emergency incident alert.

Emergency response crew performed an initial exterior and interior evaluation of facility making access via the responder and locating the cause of the water leak. 

It appears that water pipe valve ruptured causing the leakage. The discontinuation (shut-off) of the valve allowed the water leakage to cease.

All emergency response units were permitted to return to their respective quarters and the responder restored the WMF facility to normal conditions.
