Nature: Alarm Sounding

Location: 31168 Beach Cove Dr Stonewater Creek, DE 19966

On Wednesday afternoon, December 18th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an alarm sounding incident at a residence on Beach Cove in the Stonewater Creek development. It was reported to be an automatic fire alarm sounding at the residential location.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior evaluation, discussion with the residential occupants, and cancelling the call.

After evaluation, it was not determined what the alarm sounding was affiliated with a culinary mishap.  All responding units not on location were cancelled.

It is often inquired … “What is a culinary mishap?”

A "culinary mishap automatic fire alarm" refers to a situation where a cooking mistake, like burning food, produces enough smoke or steam to trigger a fire alarm in a kitchen, usually due to the smoke detector sensing the excess fumes generated by the issue.”
