Nature: Alarms - Residential (Single) - Carbon monoxide

On Monday afternoon, December 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a carbon monoxide detector activation on Merchantman Drive in the River Village development off Oak Orchard Road.  It was reported that the carbon monoxide detectors were sounding within the residence.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments completed a 360 exterior evaluation of the residential structure, initiated monitoring and evaluation of the interior of residence with no detection or readings. 

After consultation with the residential occupant, it was determined that the detector was faulty inside of the residence with no actual readings of the meters.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
