Nature: Alarm Sounding

Location: 309 Pond Rd Winding Creek Village, DE 19966

On Thursday morning, December 12th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an alarm sounding incident on Pond Road in the Winding Creek development off Banks Road. It was reported to be a general fire alarm sounding.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Tanker 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior and interior evaluation which identified the incident was the result of an oven cleaning exercise.

After discussion with the residential occupant, it was determined to be an oven cleaning experience and we assisted with natural ventilation.

All apparatus were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
