Nature: Fabrication Process for Indian River's new Pierce Saber Engine (Known as Squad 80) Commences - Progress Report #1
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is pleased to announce the production status update for one of its new Pierce Saber 7000 fire trucks to replace our aging fleet. This unit will be a Pierce Saber Cab & Chassis and will replace Engine #80-1 - https://irvfc.com/apparatus/detail/4611. This unit will be known as Squad 80 with an estimate cost of $914,495.
Atlantic Emergency Solutions recently published information that this replacement engine has commenced with some of the fabrication production process over the past week.
This replacement engine will feature the following options:

Pierce Saber Cab & Chassis

Cummins L9, 450 HP Engine

3000 Series Allison Transmission
-
1500 GPM Pump
-
1000 Gallon Water Tank
-
Husky 3 Foam System
-
Firetech Scene Lighting
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company will publish additional information as it becomes available. It is possible that the truck updates will be posted weekly hereafter.
This report for this stage of production is that the new Saber Engine's water pump house has been fabricated, the body panel pieces have been kitted together and staged for welding, and the cab roof is in line to begin fabrication as well.
