Nature: Commercial Structure Fire

Location: 36932 Silicato Dr Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday evening, December 3^rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a commercial structure fire incident on Silicato Drive in the Taormina Square Shopping Center.  It was reported to be smoke coming through the vents with an audible alarm in the adjacent business.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80-15, Rescue 80 and Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility with Tanker 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial exterior evaluation with a single story commercial structure, accessing knox key system, interior evaluation to identify cause of issue.

It was determined to be a culinary / cleaning issue in an adjacent business which caused the alarm activation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
