Nature: Washdown (Fuel Spill)

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Indian Mission Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday, December 1^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a washdown assignment at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Indian Mission Road.  It was originally reported as a property damage accident with the Delaware State Police requesting the fire company for fluid and debris clean up.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fluid and debris recovery for the entire intersection, traffic control and assistance with vehicle stabilization where needed. 

It appears that a silver Toyota crossover type vehicle and a black Ford Focus collided at the intersection causing significant front end damage to the Toyota and leaking fluids which trekked throughout the intersection.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control during the clean-up efforts.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
