Nature: Alarm Sounding

Location: 27208 Barefoot Blvd., The Peninsula, DE 19966

On Wednesday, November 13^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding on Barefoot Boulevard in the Peninsula off Bay Farm Road.  It was an alarm activation in the master bedroom smoke detector.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident evaluation and determination of cause.

It was identified while fire apparatus were responding to the incident location that one of the homeowners was not present and did not have the proper password and identified that contractors were working at the residence. Upon arrival of emergency response personnel, confirmation was obtained with the contractor that this was an accidental activation.

All emergency response units were permitted to return to their respective stations.
