Nature: Wires Down/Arcing

Location: 25926 Walnut St Bay City, DE 19966

On Monday morning, November 11^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for wires down on Walnut Street in the Bay City development off Long Neck Road.  It was reported to low hanging wires impeding the traffic patterns along Walnut Street.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation measures which included evaluation and identification of issue, confirmation with Emergency Operations Center the utility pole number, and securing the perimeter to acknowledge the hazard to the traveling motorist.

It appears that there were some utility service wires hanging low from the utility pole across the roadway to nearby residential structures.
