Nature: Traffic Collision

On Sunday morning, November 10^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident incident on Holly Lake Road between Phillips Branch Road and John J. Williams Highway.  It was reported to be an unknown motor vehicle accident. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control and overall incident mitigation activities.

It appears that a bronze Ford Edge was traveling along Holly Lake Road and left the roadway striking a tree and drainage ditch causing extensive front end / driver’s side damage to the vehicle.  The vehicle was rendered inoperable.  The EMS personnel provided a patient assessment evaluation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and temporary road closure assignments for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
