Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Bay Farm Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday, November 8^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at the Bay Farm Road intersection.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and Millsboro EMS units.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. The Lewes (82) Fire Department assisted with an engine from their Angola Station.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery as well as overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a silver Ford Explorer SUV and a black Ford pick up collided at the intersection causing damage to both vehicles and obstructing the normal flow of eastbound traffic on John J. Williams Highway.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic flow with temporary roadway closure for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
