Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Friendship Rd and Cannon Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday afternoon, November 8^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Cannon Road at Friendship Road.  It was reported to be a unknown type motor vehicle accident with the possibly of one person with an eye injury.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization where needed, vehicle stabilization where needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, and overall incident mitigation. 

It appears that a dark gray Chevrolet Silverado Pick Up was traveling on Cannon Road and collided with a blue Hyundai Sonata at the Friendship Road intersection.  The pick up veered off and struck a utility pole. Both vehicles sustained extensive front end damage with air bag deployment.  One person was transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the partial closure of the Cannon Road area

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
