Sunday June, 21 2015 @ 15:40 Nature: Vehicle Fire Location: 26064 School Lane, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Sunday afternoon, June 21st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on School Lane between Steele Drive and Bay Farm Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle. Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response assignments included extinguishment of the vehicle fire, incident and scene mitigation, traffic control and well as debris recovery. It appears that a green Ford Explorer was traveling east on School Lane and caught fire while in motion. The fire ignited the engine compartment which quickly spread to the occupant compartment. The Delaware State Police were immediately on-scene and closed this segment of Bay Farm Road. The Delaware State Fire Police assisted and coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident. There were no injuries associated with the incident. |
