On Wednesday morning, October 23^rd, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire departments were alerted to assist the Rehoboth Beach (86) Volunteer Fire Company with a residential structure on Lands End Drive off Country Club Road in Rehoboth Beach.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Bethany Beach (70) volunteer fire company for standby assignment at Rehoboth Beach Station #2, the Sussex County Paramedics, and the Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office.

Emergency response crew assignments included specific tasks as assigned by the Incident Commander to facilitate the full suppression and extinguishment of the fire.  One firefighter from from Indian River was transported to nearby medical facilities for evaluation.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall office is investigating.
