On Monday, October 21st, many first responders from throughout Sussex County attended the Visitation and Memorial Services for James D. Welsh at the Melson’s Funeral Home in Long Neck.

James Welsh, a former EMT with Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company who died on Oct. 7 in a medical helicopter crash in Kentucky.

Immediately following the funeral home services there was motorcade from the Melson’s Funeral Home – Long Neck Chapel to the Mother Mary of Peace Church on Mount Joy Road near Oak Orchard.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company wishes to express its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of James Welsh.
