Nature: Brush Fire

On Sunday afternoon, October 20^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an outside off Bay Farm Road.  It was identified as a brush fire outside of Harris Teeter in the parking lot area.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80-15 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush 80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression and saturation of the impacted area.

It appears that mulch and brush from a decorative center island were burning from an unknown reason.  The indian River Volunteer Fire Company hereby aknowledges and identifies the actions of the Harris Teeter employee prevented further spread of the fire.
