Nature: Fire Prevention Initiative – Local Daycare Provider (Children's Place)

Location: Long Neck

On Friday, October 18th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company in collaboration with the Children's Place Child Daycare Center, a local daycare provider, commenced with a fire prevention program offering fire prevention educational and safety initiatives and activities to enhance fire safety and prevention awareness.

These activities commenced with a firefighter fully geared up and provided a discussion regarding your friendly firefighter which was followed up with an opportunity for the pre-school specific curriculum for the children as well as an opportunity to see a fire truck up close and review of tools and equipment for fire suppression.

Each child evaluated and reviewed the apparatus with a brief presentation regarding the operational need and purpose of the equipment and apparatus.
