Fire Prevention Week Commences October 06, 2024

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company would like to remind our fire district residents surrounding communities that Fire Prevention Week commences October 6 thru 12, 2024. 

The 2024 campaign theme is “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!” which strives to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home.  Pursuant to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) data, which shows that the majority of U.S. home fire deaths continue to occur in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company will be visiting educational and day care facilities within our fire district to disseminate a variety of fire safety messages to the youth of our community.
