Nature: Automatic Crash Notification – Vehicle Accident

Location: 28348-28407 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday evening, October 6^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic crash notification on John J. Williams Hwy. near William Street Road and Willow Lane.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  Emergency first responders identified a two- vehicle collision with the possibly of no patients.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where needed, patient stabilization where needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a black Nissan sedan collided with a white Ford F150 pick up at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and William Street Road causing damage to both vehicles.  The pick up continued into the fence bordering the commercial property at the intersection.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident with the temporary roadway closure of John J. Williams Highway.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
