Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Beaver Dam Rd and Indian Mission Rd Harbeson, DE 19951

On Sunday, September 22^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident with medics at Beaver Dam Road and Indian Mission Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision with the possibility of four patients needing evaluation.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control with closure of Indian Mission Road, patient stabilization, fluid and debris recovery and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a silver Toyota Corolla and a Ford Mustang collided at or near the intersection of Beaver Dam Road and Indian Mission Road rending both vehicle inoperable and one vehicle left in the center of the intersection.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.  The roadway was closed at the intersection of Phillips Branch Road & Harmon’s Hill Road as well as the intersection of Holly Mount Road and Hollyville Road.

The Delaware State Police are invstigating.
