Nature: Engine 80 Readied for Service

Location: Station #1 – Oak Orchard

 

On Saturday evening, September 21st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company hosted a duty crew to finalize the finishing touches on Engine 80 which has been readied for service and emergency response.

The duty crew performed tasks changing out and transferring apparatus tools and equipment from the old apparatus (Engine 80-3) to the new apparatus (Engine 80).  These assignments continued with driver certification and training evolutions, racking of hose in the rear hose beds which included various lengths and diameters of 1¾”, 2”, 3” and 5” hose.

Over the past week, every apparatus driver from Indian River was certified on the new truck and the truck attended various displays and functions including the recent Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association Annual Conference in Rehoboth & Dewey Beach.
