Nature: Delaware State Fire Police – Sussex County Fire Police of the Year

Location: Hyatt Ballroom – Dewey Beach

 

On Tuesday, September 17th, the Delaware State Fire Police Association held their Annual Delaware State Fire Police Association Dinner Meeting at the 29th Annual Conference of the Delaware Volunteer Firefighter’s Association in Dewey Beach. During this event various members of Delaware’s fire police associations were recognized.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is pleased to announce that William F. Tobin, Jr. was recognized for his years of service, advocacy in and for the Delaware State Fire Police, years of services with the Delaware Fire Services as well as the Delaware Volunteer Firefighters’ Association.

This nominee has served in many capacities and performed many functions throughout the entire State of Delaware.  This volunteer has continually achieved and accomplished the success of many endeavors with numerous legislative initiatives benefitting the entire Delaware Fire Service.  Most recently, the perpetual efforts to enhance Delaware’s Newly Enacted Move-Over Law. 

William has devoted many years of service to the fire service and the fire police associations over the years and was bestowed this honor upon him Colonel Melissa Zebley of the Delaware State Police. 

Therefore, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company wishes to acknowledge and congratulate Williams F. Tobin, Jr. on his recent recognition as Sussex County’s Delaware State Fire Policeman of the Year – 2024.
