Nature: Medical Emergency / Landing Zone Assignment

City: Sherwood Forest North

On Friday afternoon, September 13th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a medical emergency which necessitated the establishment of a landing zone for the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper #2.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Tanker #80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control during the landing and departure activities of the aviation unit.

It appears that the aviation unit was requested based upon a medical incident associated with a fall incident in the Sherwood Forest development.   The landing zone was established at Station #2 on Banks Road.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
