Nature: Vehicle Accident - BLS

Location: Long Neck Road and Ridgewood Drive, Pot Nets Creekside

On Sunday morning, September 1^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Ridgewood Drive – Pot Nets Creekside entrance.  It was identified to be a two vehicle collision.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Millsboro EMS units.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Utility 80-11 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine 80-1 and Incident Command from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization where needed, vehicle stabilization, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a maroon Ford F150 pick up struck the rear of a white Chevrolet Suburban on Long Neck Road near the entrance of Pot Nets Creekside causing significant damage to both vehicles.   The Millsboro EMS coordinated the patient assessment and stabilization assignment.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the closure of Long Neck Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigation.
