Nature: Alarm Sounding

Location: 28814 West Henry Place Baylis Estates, DE 19966

On Tuesday afternoon, August 20th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company for an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential structure on West Henrry Plance in the Bayliss Estates development of Mount Joy Road.  It was reported to be a general alarm sounding incident at the residential structure location.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Tanker 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included a completed 360 evaluation of the building with location of utilities and no change in conditions.  A crew was assigned to perform an interior evaluation as well.

The incident was determined to be a faulty smoke detector alarm causing the activation. 

All emergency response units were permitted to return to their respective quarters.
