Nature: Automatic Crash Notification – Vehicle Accident – Long Neck Road

Address: Long Neck Rd and Knights Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

On Monday evening, August 19^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad were alerted for an automatic crash notification via cell phone notification on Long Neck Road near Enchanted Acres. Emergency responders located one vehicle in the Short’s Marine parking lot with heavy front end damage.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization where needed, and traffic control.

It appears that a Buick Avenir sedan was traveling on Long Neck Road and struck a vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway causing significant damage to the Buick.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted coordinated traffic control.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
