Nature: Vehicle Accident

Address: John J Williams Hwy and Banks Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday evening, August 15^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Mid Sussex Rescue Squad was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway and Banks Road intersection.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision with a patient having chest pains.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Tanker 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and over incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a blue KIA Forte collided with a grey Jeep Wrangler at the intersection causing front end damage to both vehicles rendering them inoperable.  All occupants were evaluated by EMS personnel.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with John J. Williams Highway being closed for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
